Winters: Are you prepared?

With the winters knocking at your door, you ask yourself the question. Are you prepared for the chilly winters? Have you taken the pre-cautionary measures to keep your house warmer these winters? If not, then it’s never too late. In this article the ways in which one can protect the house are discussed.

Firstly, you need to install a heating appliance in your home, to keep your house warmer and provide it with warm air. However to keep the warm air inside your home, to keep it cozy you need to install insulation in your home. And it’s necessary that the process of insulation is done properly and no mistakes are made. If the home insulation Pakistan is not done properly, heat will easily get inside your home and warm air will escape your home as well.

The best time to get your house insulated is during its construction period. But as insulation has just started become common in Pakistan, old house do not have proper insulation systems, and of you own such a house some of the tips mentioned will help you a lot.
If there are a lot of windows in your home, you need to ensure that you have covered them with thick curtains, so that the warm air remains trapped in your home. Keep your windows closed, so that there is no way for the cold air to make its way inside.  The front door of your house is one of the main source through which cold air gets inside the house. Keep the door closed at all times. Open the windows and the door during mid-day, when the sun is at its peak, and lets out its warmth. Other than that, it’s highly recommended that you keep the front door covered with a thick curtain as well.

Fire places and chimneys are important in winters. However if they use gas as their fuel, make  sure that there is no leakage of the gas in the house to prevent any sort of accident.
